Meet Dr. Alvaro Salles
Dr. Alvaro Wagner Rodrigues Salles brings decades of international experience and academic excellence to his orthodontic practice. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Santo Amaro in Brazil in 1988. His academic journey continued with a Master’s in Pathophysiology, focusing on Temporomandibular Disorders, followed by a specialization in Functional Orthopedics.
Driven by a passion for research, Dr. Salles completed his Ph.D. at the University of São Paulo in 2006, where he studied pulpal blood flow changes during orthodontic treatment.
After relocating to Winnipeg in 2009, he began lecturing at the University of Manitoba. He later earned a second Master’s degree in Orthodontics from the same university and achieved board certification from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in 2017.
A respected speaker and educator, Dr. Salles has delivered lectures across South America, Europe, Asia, the U.S., and Canada, and has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications in the field of orthodontics.

Meet Dr. Adriana Salles
With over two decades in pediatric dentistry, Dr. Adriana Salles brings both compassion and clinical excellence to her practice. She provides a full range of services, including sedation and general anesthesia, and has significant experience treating children with special healthcare needs.
Dr. Salles also served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba, where she trained dental students and residents in pediatric care.

Meet Dr. Mitch Vodrey
Dr. Mitch Vodrey is a respected pediatric dentist in Winnipeg with a long-standing dedication to children's oral health. Originally from Kenora, Ontario, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto, where he was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal in Pediatric Dentistry. He went on to complete his pediatric specialty training at Toronto’s renowned Hospital for Sick Children.
After his advanced training, Dr. Vodrey moved to Winnipeg, where he became Assistant Professor and Head of the Undergraduate Pediatric Dental Program at the University of Manitoba. He later transitioned into private practice, founding a full-time pediatric dental clinic at the Medical Arts Building. Today, he continues to provide high-quality care as part of the Top Smiles Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics team.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Vodrey remains actively involved in education and advocacy. He teaches at the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Dentistry and contributes his expertise to several professional committees with the Manitoba Dental Association and Red River College. His community involvement extends to local organizations, including Winnipeg Montessori School and the Manitoba Theatre for Young People.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Vodrey enjoys a full and vibrant family life. He is a proud father of three sons and grandfather to four grandchildren. When he's not working, he can often be found enjoying family time, relaxing at his cottage on Lake of the Woods, or engaging with the Winnipeg community.

Dr. Saffana Jbara
With over 20 years of experience in both private practice and hospital-based pediatric dentistry, Dr. Saffana Jbara is known for her gentle, knowledgeable approach to children’s dental care in Winnipeg. She spent several years as a full-time Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba's College of Dentistry, where she trained both undergraduate students and pediatric dentistry residents at the Children’s Hospital at Health Sciences Centre.
Dr. Jbara continues to contribute to the field as a part-time faculty member at the U of M, where she teaches at the Children’s Hospital and at SMILE Plus, a community-focused dental clinic located at Machray School. Her professional credentials include Fellowship with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Pediatric Dentistry and board certification with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She’s also an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Manitoba Dental Association.
A frequent speaker at international conferences, Dr. Jbara has also authored academic articles focused on advancing pediatric oral health.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Jbara enjoys a full family life. She loves traveling and cheering on her two children at soccer games, especially when enjoying meals cooked by her husband.
