Meet Dr. Alvaro Salles
Dr. Alvaro Wagner Rodrigues Salles obtained his DDS degree at the University of Santo Amaro, Brazil, in 1988. He finished his Master of Science program in Pathophysiology with a focus in Temporomandibular Disorders in 2001 at the University of Santos, Brazil, and obtained the specialist title in Functional Orthopedics in 2003.
He concluded his Ph.D. in 2006 at the University of São Paulo with an interest in the evaluation of pulpal blood flow during the orthodontic movement.
In 2009, Dr. Salles moved to Winnipeg and started lecturing at the University of Manitoba. In 2017, he finished his Master of Science in Orthodontics at the University of Manitoba and successfully passed his board exam at The Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Dr. Salles has been lecturing in South America, Europe, Asia, USA, and Canada. In addition, he published peer review articles in the past years.

Meet Dr. Adriana Salles
Dr. Salles has been practicing pediatric dentistry for more than 20 years. She will be offering inhalation sedation and dental surgery under general anesthesia. She has a great amount of experience with medically compromised patients and kids with different needs and abilities.
Adriana was an Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba for 5 years, training undergraduate and graduate students.

Meet Dr. Mitch Vodrey
Dr. Mitch Vodrey is a pediatric dentist who joined Top Smiles Pediatric Dentistry in May 2020. He was born and raised in Kenora, Ontario. Dr. Vodrey earned his dental degree at the University of Toronto, where he was awarded the Gold Medal in Pediatric Dentistry.
He then returned to U of T and the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children for his Post Graduate Diploma in Pediatric Dentistry.
After completing his education, Dr. Vodrey moved to Winnipeg, where he became the Assistant Professor and Head of the Undergraduate Pediatric Dental Program in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba. After a brief period in that position, he established a full-time private practice in Pediatric Dentistry at the Medical Arts Building, where he currently practices.
Dr. Vodrey has served on several dental committees with the Manitoba Dental Association and Red River College. Additionally, he continues to teach at the Faculty of Dentistry, U of M. He has also served on boards within the community, including Winnipeg Montessori School and the Manitoba Theatre for Young People.
Dr. Vodrey is a member of the Royal College of Dentists, the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentists, and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Vodrey is a proud father of three sons, a father-in-law, and a grandfather of two boys and two girls. He enjoys spending time with his family, practicing dentistry, participating in the Winnipeg community, spending time with friends, and relaxing at his cottage at Lake of the Woods.

Dr. Saffana Jbara
Dr. Jbara worked for several years as a full-time assistant professor at the University of Manitoba (U of M) College of Dentistry, teaching dental students and pediatric dentistry residents at Children’s Hospital at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Dr. Jbara is still teaching part-time at the U of M, Children’s Hospital, and SMILE Plus community dental clinic at the Machray School. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Pediatric Dentistry, a Diplomate at the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and a member of the American and Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Manitoba Dental Association.
In addition, she presented lectures during international meetings and published articles related to dentistry for children. Dr. Jbara has been practicing pediatric dentistry in private dental clinics and hospital settings for over 20 years.
When she is not caring for her patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids, both of whom are avid soccer players, eating food prepared by her husband, and traveling.
